| From St. Tropez, France, Amaya "Sultana Gamal" formely "Noor al Amar" is internationally known as a powerful, charismatic dancer; portraying musical nuances with her intense abdominal work, layering of sensual torso and arm combinations, non-stop shimmies and fiery zill work.In poem, she is referred to as a "dark lush wine". |
| Amaya has danced since chilhood; studying ballet, jazz and modern dance extensively (Graham and Limon Techniques) |
as a scholarship student at the prestigious American School of Dance, various ethnic dances, panthomine, theater and acting, and many years of international folkdance.
Amaya as been teaching dance for over 25 years and taught Hatha Yoga many years before it became popular. Middle eastern dance training with Marina Fisher, Sultana, Dina, Mahmoud Reda, Raqia Hassan and others. |

During her career in France she performed for Albert of Monaco, the Turkish ambassador to France and his family, and various Arab royalty. She performed in Arab-owned clubs in the Côte D'Azur as well as toured with Orchestre Jamal Aziz and was the premiere danseuse for the Official Moroccan Association of Nice. |
| Amaya teaches beginning thru advanced classes in her own studio, studio Baraka, in Venice, and offers private instruction and coaching as well as Movement Work for dance challenged individuals (this includes coordination issues and various physical ailments) using her background teaching Adaptive P.E to individuals with both physical and mental impairments. this versatile background along with her precise technique and warm and patient personality makes her an excellent teacher for any student. |

One of Amaya specialty is teaching zills (fingers cymbals) and taugh zills this years at Mendocino Middle Eastern Dance and Music Camp in Northern California.
She is a "hand-on" teacher and makes your time with her worthwhile. Her small private studio ensures personal attention in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Other specialties include teaching teenagers and children (the troupe includes 3 wonderful teenage dancers).
Every 6 month, Amaya also offers specials workshops throughout the year such as "Celebrate your belly by bellydancing" a bellydance program specifically designed for the pregnant woman (Amaya has a background in emergency medicine and midwifery). |
